Isle of Wight
It was luvverly. The sun shone, the waves lapped at the shore, the sandcastles arose and were washed away.

Yes indeed. Although re wetsuits, I seem to be thinner-skinned than last time I went: I got pretty wet but didn't actually swim much.
My friend L came down to spend a few days with us, and got the train. I had forgotten you could do that. Train to Portsmouth Harbour connects to the catamaran to Ryde Pier Head, then a train will take you as far as Shanklin (or there are connecting buses). Shanklin in 2h31 from Waterloo.
